Understanding Bounce Rate at Google Analytics Services

Ever heard of Google Analytics? Yes, it is one of the tools to detect movement in a website visitor activity. Lots of interesting stuff from the user behavior that can be detected by google analytics. One of the terms that describe it is "Bounce Rate". What is "Bounce Rate"? Where did the "Bounce Rate" measured?

Bounce rate is if the analogy like this, visitors who opened a web page, then do not do on the web page and then go from that page. In other words, if the value of a web page bounce rate is high, there is a possibility that visitors do not like the page and immediately abandoned, or indeed nothing could be done on the page.

From the results of googling, I found related comment stating that the Bounce Rate is high, it does not mean the page is not attractive so directly abandoned. Why is that? Because it is related to the number of URLs that can be clicked on the page. More and more the URL is clicked, the smaller the value of Bounce Rate.

So if the page does not exist URLs are clickable like pages on Flickr that only displays the image, then the value of a high Bounce Rate does not mean the page was not interesting.

In essence, Bounce Rate is a value to measure, how long visitors stay on one web page and then go from that page. Of course it depends also on the function of the page itself. What is displayed on that page quite understood the information, so only need a short time for visitors to get what you want from that page. Or, a lot of whether or not the activities that can be carried visitors on a web page (this related to the low value of Bounce Rate, when on a web page there are many URLs are clickable).

Conjunction with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is when there is a web page with the same function on two different websites. So, the web page that has a higher Bounce Rate (eg: on the website A), probably not as interesting web page on the website B. This of course affects the ranking of search results a second keyword associated with the website earlier. So in the search results through Google, the URL of the website B position will be above URL website A. If so, which need to be analyzed by the internal owner of the website is, the extent to which the website was useful to visitors.
